Before you can take your practical driving test you will be required to take your theory test. DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) are the authorised Government agency who conduct your theory test. There are 2 parts to the theory test:
- the multiple choice part
- the hazard perception part
You will need to pass both parts of the theory test and they are taken on the same day. Like any exam you will need to study from the recommended study aids and reading materials and our driving instructors will help you decide which is the best source of information for you. We do highly recommend you read and fully understand the following books:
- The Official DVSA Guide to Driving: The Essential Skills
- The Official Highway Code
- Know your traffic signs
We will also provide access to 2 online learning websites where you can study and practice both parts of the theory test before you take the actual test itself. We always encourage our pupils to prepare well for the theory test and believe that what you learn in your lessons, gives a better understanding of the theoretical side of driving. The DVSA theory test currently costs £23 and can be booked by clicking here.
